OREA REAL ESTATE COLLEGE
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO
THE SALESPERSON REGISTRATION EDUCATION PROGRAM

(Approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005)

The following admission requirements are set in accordance with the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, S.O. c. 28, Schedule L.

Applicants must:

  1. Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; OR
  2. Be at least 18 years of age, complete the OREA Real Estate College Admissions Test and attain a minimum mark of 50%.

The required documentation identified below may be forwarded by the applicant or the issuing educational institution, school board or the Independent Learning Centre (collectively the “Issuing Institution) either:

  • Electronically to admissions@orea.com
    OR
  • By FAX to the Admissions Department (416) 445-9728
    OR
  • By regular mail or in person to:

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

A. (i)   SECONDARY SCHOOL DIPLOMA:

You must ensure that the Admissions Department of the OREA Real Estate College receives one of the following documents:

  1. A copy of Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma; OR
  2. A copy of Ontario Secondary School Transcript, which clearly states that an Ontario Secondary School Diploma was awarded.

OR

(ii)   EQUIVALENT:

The following are considered equivalent to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma:

  1. A secondary school graduation diploma from any other Canadian province or territory or from the United States.
  2. A General Education Development (GED) Certificate issued by a Canadian province or territory or from the United States.1
  3. A transcript, diploma or certificate from a country other than Canada or the United States, assessed at an Ontario Secondary School Diploma level by a recognized assessment service such as World Education Services (“WES”). WES will prepare a ‘Credential Evaluation and Authentication Report’ (referred to as a Document-by-Document Report on the WES application form) for direct submission to the Admissions Department of the OREA Real Estate College. Additional information is available from WES at www.wes.org/ca.
  4. A postsecondary diploma or degree from Canada or the United States.
  5. A postsecondary diploma or degree from a country other than Canada or the United States, that has been assessed as equivalent to a Canadian postsecondary diploma or degree by a recognized assessment service such as WES. WES will prepare a ‘Credential Evaluation and Authentication Report’ (referred to as a Document-by-Document Report on the WES application form) for direct submission to the Admissions Department of the OREA Real Estate College. Additional information is available from WES at www.wes.org/ca.
  6. A certificate of completion for an Ontario academic upgrading program that is accepted by an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology for entry into an Ontario postsecondary program (Ontario Basic Skills Level IV, Basic Training and Skills Development Level IV).
  7. A certificate of completion of an academic upgrading program from another Canadian jurisdiction that is accepted by an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology for entry into an Ontario postsecondary program.
  8. A Certificate of Apprenticeship or Certificate of Qualification in any trade from Ontario or other Canadian jurisdiction.

OR

B.  BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE AND COMPLETE THE OREA REAL ESTATE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS TEST:

Individuals who do not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent must be at least 18 years of age and must complete the OREA Real Estate College Admissions Test and attain a minimum mark of 50%.

To establish proof of your legal age, you must provide to the Admissions Department of the OREA Real Estate College, a copy of any of the following government issued identification, bearing your photograph, prior to being permitted to write the OREA Real Estate College Admissions Test.

  • Canadian passport; or
  • A provincial driver’s licence; or
  • Another piece of identification (issued by a federal or provincial authority), such as a health insurance card.
