Advice: The Pre-Registration stage – Should your third course be residential real estate or commercial real estate?

Last night I was teaching my Real Estate Math course. Most of the attendees were getting ready to take the OREA Admissions Test.  It was an enthusiastic group and we were discussing  how to become a licensed sales agent in Ontario pursuant to the terms of the Ontario Real Estate and Business Brokers Act. As you know, you must pass a total of six exams – three in the pre-registration stage and three in the two year articling period.

Some courses are required and some courses are some are optional. For example, in the pre-registration stage, you can choose your third course. You may choose to take either Residential Real Estate or Commercial Real Estate. The course that you do NOT take during the pre-registration stage must be taken during the articling period.
